BUDGT helps you manage the money you can spend each month with a day-by-day approach. If you follow your daily budgets you will save money by the end of each month.
BUDGT is a small lightweight daily finances app. It is not a full scale financial tool and should not be used as such. BUDGT was designed to help you keep track of your daily expenses while providing an outlook on your monthly finances.
First you need to visit your budget edit screen ( Button on your MONTH tab).
You've got two different ways to set up your budget now. If you live on a very tight budget you should setup your budget as correct as possible. Press the '+' button to add a new entry to your budget.
On the Amount screen that pops up you have various options.
or : Decide between income and expense.
or : Decide if this entry should recur every month.
Enter all your monthly incomes and expenses in that manner. There is no limit on the number of entries. Remember that you should use this screen only for expenses that are to be payd every month. All other expenses will be logged on the DAY tab.
The second approach is, to let BUDGT only manage the amount of money you are willing to spend each month. This option makes sense if you earn more money than you want to spend. Just put one entry 'Income' with the amount you can afford to spend each month.
TOTAL: This is your daily budget. It is the amount you could spend that day without losing money by the end of the month.
SPENT: This is the amount of money you have already spent that day.
LEFT : TOTAL-SPENT, the amount left of your daily budget.
The mathematical formula for your daily TOTAL is (Money left to spend in month) / (Days left in Month). It corresponds to the amount of money you have left in your monthly budget evenly spread across all days that are yet to come.
The DAY tab is the place you should use to log all your expenses. Additionally can use it to browse through the days of the current month.
The MONTH tab provides a read-only reference to your monthly financial situation. It shows you where you stand in the current month as well as how you performed the past month'. Additinally it allows you to see on what category you spent how much so far.
The best moment to start using BUDGT is the start of any month.
Yes you can. To make BUDGT perform how it shoud, the best practice is to enter an expense in the budget setup that amounts an approximate of what you've already spent during the days before you got BUDGT.
You can reach your monthly projection by tapping anywhere in the area that contains numbers on your MONTH tab. The projection shows the amount that you will have left by the end of the month if you keep spending the same daily average as you did so far in the month.
Export capabilities can be found in your settings. Visit the 'Export' section there. You will see an overview of all month' that can be exported.
Choose the month you want to export by tapping on it, and pressing the Export button on the next screen. BUDGT will now create a .csv file containg all your month' data and provide you with a dialog of what tod o with it.
You can for example send the report to you via email, dropbox or evernote (if those apps are installed). The .csv file is excel ready (please relate to the next question for import to excel).
Once you've exported a .csv report a any month to your computer (see above question for howto), open Excel and chose 'File > Import'. In the dialog that opens chose 'CSV-File'. Leave all the following options on their automatic value and press OK. Your Excel table should now be generated for you.
No, BUDGT currently does not yet support any synchronization. The reasons are of both financial and technical reasons.
At the moment BUDGT is a standalone iOS App only.
